Water-repellent rain jackets for your outdoor must-haves

Adventure in comfort with The North Face. Ditch the unwieldy poncho and rubber slicker for a sleek raincoat that offers functionality and fashion. The clean, seam-sealed rain gear is coated with a durable water-repellent (DWR) finish to keep you dry as you hike through a rain forest, a storm, or by a roaring waterfall. The adjustable hood lets you keep water off your face during the downpour. Hand and chest pockets with polyurethane zippers protect smaller gear, like your phone. The laminate front zipper cover protects you from seepage. Plus, there's no faux fur trim to be ruined by the water. Our inner fleece jackets on dual or Triclimate® outerwear are protected by the best seller rain shell. Just pull on some waterproof boots and you're ready to stay dry.

Packable, breathable water protection for on-the-go

You don't always need to jump right to parkas for protection from the elements. We've got softshell jackets that can protect you from the level of water you're likely to see on the average rainy day. We've got men's, women's, and kids' raincoats ready for a comfortable day spent on the go. Looking for a water-repellent winter coat? We've got puffers and down jackets ready to take on a little rain or snow. Need something ultralight for your camping kit? Our hoodie jackets are perfect for packing in a daypack. With mesh linings, vents, and overall breathable construction, you can stay comfortable on the trail, even as you tackle the toughest spots.

Keep off the wet with a water-repellent jacket that can help you stay dry in the rain. Try out one of our rain jacket styles and take it with you on the go.

What is the difference between water repellent and waterproof?

Water-repellent, water-resistant, and waterproof all describe different levels of protection from rain and spray. Water-resistant is the lowest level. A water-resistant jacket can resist water sometimes, but not every time. Water-repellent construction repels water most of the time. The best protection is a waterproof jacket, which fully protects against downpours and drenching rain.
