Men's Soft Shells

Softshell jackets are designed to provide a balance of breathability, flexibility, light weather protection, and comfort. They are ideal for activities such as hiking, running, biking, travel, and everyday wear when conditions are cool, windy, or lightly wet. Unlike fully waterproof hardshell jackets, softshells prioritize freedom of movement and airflow, helping regulate body temperature during active pursuits. Features often include stretch fabrics, wind resistance, water resistance, and technologies such as WindWall® for added protection from chilly breezes. When conditions deteriorate, a softshell can also serve as an insulating midlayer beneath a waterproof shell.

Men's softshell jackets are great for high-output outdoor activities like uphill hiking and climbing.  They offer lightweight protection that doesn't weigh you down.  The materials in softshells tend to be stretchy as well as quieter when you move (think less "crinkle" noises).  These jackets are not typically stormproof.  If rain is in the forecast, opt for a raincoat instead.

Our best-selling collection of men's softshells is our Apex Bionic line of jackets, hoodies, and vests. They are made with our WINDWALL™ fabric that blocks the wind without sacrificing breathability. Their streamlined design makes them an excellent choice for everyday wear. While they aren't waterproof, they have a DWR finish which makes them water-repellent.  

Our Men's Tansa Jacket is ideal when you need wind protection, but don't want a jacket that will weigh you down.  It's built with added stretch for greater range of motion for strenuous switchbacks and scrambling.  The center front zip houses a chin guard.

Another lightweight option for the trail is our Tek Approach Jacket.  It is also a wind-resistant soft shell layer and features a wrap-around back panel that adds comfort when wearing a pack.
