    Comments about TheNorthFace STORMBREAK 2:

just got back from a weekend at the river and decided to bring this tent out because it has been a while since i have used it. living in the mid-west, we get a lot of good wind storm and rain. last night we got both with lighting and thunder. winds where up to i think 40 to 50 mph gusts and with about 1 to one and a half inch of rain. with all of that big tree where coming down and the tent held up to it all. it did not budge at all in the wind and kepted me and all my gear dry.

    Comments about TheNorthFace STORMBREAK 2:

So I will have to say one of the best tents I have slept in, except that it lacks enough stakes, or footprint but for the price of the tent u can't beat that buy your own stakes and footprint. I want to say that when this tent is properly tied down it will hold strong. Let me tell you a story why I think this is an awesome tent for the money. For a full week i decided to go camping at Klause Springs its a little hippie campsite that has its on little wonder of texas at it. When I went I was the only camper there amount 1 other who stayed in an RV. So it was peaceful. Well the first night was reality calm. The second night was when all hell broke loose. It started to rain late afternoon... no biggie really a little rain never hurt. But later on it started to pour like pour so hard i couldn't see my car a mear 40 feet away. Still no leaks in the Tent was really really surprised. Well it thundered and lightening the whole night (lit up the whole tent really neat) with really strong wind. The tent still held rigid, at one point i looked outside of the tent and the water from the rain was up on all sides of the tent a good 2 inches if not more (its not like i had a tape measure, it was like finger deep) still not a leak on the bottom or the top of the tent. Now you can imagine texas in the summer, I'm not going to lie it was hot and humid, however I was protected from all the elements. I got a phone call from my friend Daniel in the middle of the night saying man you gotta get out of there I'm looking at the weather report and it says your in a category 1 thunderstorm...I LOLed. I told him yeah right and i said if i die, i die; but what is life without adventure and the will to stay where no one else would. I stayed... It was sort of peaceful in a scary sense. I woke up the next day there was tree debris everywhere, flooding everywhere; but you know what the tent was alright. In the long run I would recommend this tent to anyone on a budget for quality.

This by far has been the best tent I've owned. Has held up nicely so far with 3 trips under it's belt. Once trip was to Desolation Wilderness. Got both snow and hail (see pic), and it kept us and our gear nice and dry.

        Comments about TheNorthFace STORMBREAK 2:

I first used this bag on a 4 night backpacking trip at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore in the Upper Peninsula in Michigan. It's a beautiful place, but the weather was fairly unforgiving. The mosquitos were out the whole time, and it poured rain at about 45 degrees one of the nights. The tent was perfectly waterproof, and easily carried in my bag and ultralight. The poles are heavy duty, and the mesh was completely bug-proof. My 6'4" frame fit snug alongside my 5'5" girlfriend, but our bags were cramped up next to us during the rain day. We set up a rainfly by the tent to put them under.

        Comments about TheNorthFace STORMBREAK 2:

I bought this tent before a trip to the Smokey Mountains. The first night i camped at the base of a mountain and had light rain which was not a problem with the rainfly provided. The second night consisted of unexpexted thunderstorms and lightning. The winds and rain were so strong that i had a few drops in my tent from one of the screen mesh doors. The temperature dropped to 20 degrees that night which became rather cold because there is so much screen mesh in the design of the tent, but this does offer great ventilation for warmer weather. The tent is designed nice with four (4) magnetic poles two (2) of which are shorter offering better roof stability. The taped seems are great and the rainfly offers plenty of room on each side of the tent for boots and bags to be stored there. It also has a door on each side which is a plus when sleeping two people in it. For the price you really cant beat it! Like stated previously i think this tent is made for warmer weather but did do well in worst case scenario. For colder climates a tent with less screen mesh is ideal. I would recommend this tent and am very satisfied with my purchase.

I've taken this tent out in all kinds of weather and it has never let me down. There is plenty of room for 2 people and it's so comfortable inside. It doesn't take up much room in my bag and it's very lightweight. Really easy to put up and take down, I would recommend this to all of my friends.

              Comments about TheNorthFace STORMBREAK 2:

Usually do backcountry trips, but on my first trip with this tent it was a car camping rustic campsite affair. Camped by a little lake and a thunder storm rolled in that brought everything you can imagine with it. had to take down my tarp due to gale force winds. But this tent held up fine and shed rain that was running down the fly like one of those drive thru car washes. A literal waterfall on all four sides. For the price this tent amazed me. The near vertical interior walls and high ceiling hight make for a comfortable two man tent. I highly recommend it for any kind of three season camping/hiking.
