Water repellent. The North Face uses DWR coating on the full jackets, coats, and parkas. This treatment to the fabrics acts as a barrier against water, causing it to bead up and roll right off.
Wind protection. Some men's winter jackets have a wind-resistant WINDWALL™ fabric. Those include the THERMOBALL™ Hooded Jacket and the TNF™ Red Box Down Jacket.
