I liked this bag very much. It's pretty and apparently durable ( or so i thought).
Less than one year into usage the sides started to tear.
During showers(not even heavy rain!), water will collect at the joint between the top flap and the body and seep in.
One thing I dislike about the Bag is that also it's too heavy. It's already quite a handful even when it's empty.
It's still a fairly durable and pretty bag that I like but really I expected more from north face. Maybe I expected too much.

I really like this backpack. All my friends are very impressed by this backpack and the quality is truly good. The side zip for the laptop comes in pretty handy since opening the top is kinda inconvenient sometimes (when you put both zips to the very edge, it's my personal habit tho). The water repellant material was one of the main features I'm looking for. I go on trips to Shanghai (China) a lot and it's always rainy over there especially during spring, this is definitely gonna get me covered for my next trip. I would also like to mention the padding of the backpack. They are really soft and solid at the same time, walking around with a full backpack won't even be a matter. Overall it's a great backpack, suitable for those who have to commute on bike or by public transportation. Enough room for books, laptop, files etc.

I would recommend this pack to anyone who wants a slick pack that offers high quality materials with a minimum of fuss and bother. With the Kaban NF have finally broken away from the old mentality that a pack has to have a million straps hanging every which way. For this reason I would say this is primarily an urban pack but it would also be suitable for light hiking.
This thing is slick sided and takes up a minimum of space. It is therefore ideal for those who commute on public transport and need to squeeze into tight spaces on a regular basis or who just like a neatly designed piece of luggage.
Apart from that, the best things about it are the robust materials which will be familiar to anyone who knows the base camp duffle bag range, the amazingly perfect stitching, the cool colour options (I got woodland camo/safety orange) and the intelligent pocket design.
It doesn't have a ton of space inside it - my 15 inch Dell XPS only fits if I insert through the main opening, ie it won't get through the side pocket - but if you are running light it is ideal. The padding on the back is ample and the straps seem robust enough.
I haven't loaded mine up heavy because I use it mainly for gym and I go light. I would say it would be good for bike riders as it is light, robust and water resistant and has lots of light reflective materials worked into the design. Excellent pack, NF did a great job with it.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I absolutely love this backpack. I use it for college and get around almost exclusively by bike, so if you need room for books, a laptop, clothes, or whatever, this backpack can handle it, and still be comfortable on long rides. I have found that the many, spacious pockets make for easy access and plenty of room, and the weather-proofed outer walls of the bag make it perfect for any scenario, whether it be camping or just getting caught in the rain. Also, one of my personal favorite qualities of the bag, is its laptop pocket that is padded and can be accessed from the inside or outside of the backpack for quick access. This backpack has truly exceeded my expectations.
