Bags and gear is a very large grouping of products so let's break this down into what we offer specifically at The North Face. This category includes the following:
Bags like waist packs, totes, crossbodies
The North Face bags are often praised for their blend of rugged outdoor durability and practical everyday function. While originally built for expeditions, many of the styles are designed to keep everyone from students to weekend warriors to casual explorers organized and comfortable.
What are our bags good for?
Everyday use and commuting: Crossbody bags and mini backpacks are great choices when all you need to carry are the essentials. If your commute requires you to carry more including a laptop, check out any one of our commuter backpacks with laptop compartments.
Campus: Whether in middle school, high school, or college, our backpacks are a staple on campuses. Best-sellers like the Borealis, Recon, Jester, and Hot Shot are a go-to during Back to School shopping.
Hiking: Whether you choose a smaller pack for a quick day hike or a technical backpack for serious through-hikes, we've got the bags to keep you organized and comfortable on the trail.
Travel: Whether you choose a travel backpack or a carry-on sized Base Camp Duffel (which can be worn like a backpack), our bags are designed to help you never stop exploring the world. We also offer a range of rolling luggage to help you glide through the airport.
Expeditions: Our Base Camp duffels are renowned for their heavy-duty, water-resistant material meant to survive flights, truck beds, and base camps.
The North Face also offers tents and sleeping bags perfect for casual camping or serious expeditions. If family camping is your thing, consider the Wawona 6, our best-selling 6 person family camping tent that features a double-wall construction and a massive front vestibule that can act as shaded porch seating. For expeditions, our Mountain 25 is a legend - built with heavy-duty aluminum poles and reinforced geometric webbing to withstand intense wind gusts and alpine snowstorms.
Our sleeping bags are available in a variety of temperature ratings including 35°F and 50°F all the way down to 0°F.
Trusted by explorers and everyday adventurers alike, The North Face bags and gear are known for their reliability, comfort, and performance. Able to perform in multiple environments from city life to trail with ease, it's no wonder many of our styles remain best-sellers year after year.
The North Face Base Camp Duffel (Medium): An iconic gear bag designed for expeditions and travel alike. It features detachable shoulder straps so you can carry it like a backpack. One recent customer says, "I've just purchased this North Face Base Camp Duffel (Medium) for short trips and weekend travel, and so far it has been awesome. The material feels really tough and durable, the inside has a durable water repellant layer and holds up well even when it gets tossed around in cars or airports. I like the backpack straps too. They make it much easier to sling over my shoulder and carry when the bag is full. Plenty of space for clothes and other gear, and the wide opening makes packing simple. Definitely a solid bag that I expect to use for years."
The North Face Wawona 6: Described as virtually a portable chateau, our Wawona 6 tent has enough room for 6 people, high ceilings, and large windows for exceptional airflow. A recent reviewer says, "I have used this tent for the past three or four years and it is great!! Very roomy, plenty of head space and room for two full size cots. Once I learned to set it up, it's up in less than 15 minutes. The design really helps keep it dry even if am setting it up in the rain as there is no rain fly! The front vestibule is huge and has plenty of room for my two chairs and table...which is where I have the coffee maker for early morning coffee in bed! The back vestibule is great for gear storage or other non necessities."
The North Face Terra Lumbar 1L: When you only need to carry the small essentials, carry them in the Terra Lumbar 1L. It has a water-repellent finish and is made from fully recycled ripstop shell fabric. One recent reviewer said, "It's being used for travel, especially to a foreign country. It's much easier to carry personal items in this and much more convenient." Another wrote, "Cute and convenient. Holds a lot. Great little hiking bag!"
