Warranty and Repairs
Helping to keep gear out on
the trails.
When In 1968, when Hap Klopp took over The North Face, he put together our warranty program. Three years later we created a repairs department using sewers from our factory to make in-house repairs fo our customers - by repairing items we would reduce the need to purchase replacement goods. Hap believed that our warranty and repair program would help ensure that our products last, and he was right. The materials we use go through rigorous testing to give us confidence in the quality and durability of the gear we produce.
Our warranty and repair technicians are experts in the details of our products and have access to an archive of trims like patches, buttons, and zippers, all spanning the lifetime of our brand. When you send our repairs department a Denali from the '90s, we will try to fix whatever repair is needed using an original part (and if not original, it will be pretty darn close). We repair as many items as possible, but if something is beyond saving, we'll let you know and then try to salvage the materials for use in futures repairs.
Over the years we have heard amazing stories from our customers about the adventures they've taken their The North Face products on. Sometimes we hear about pieces being passed down through the family. We believe a good product is one that is used until it is completely unusable.
To take care of your products, check the care instructions printed on the inner tags. In general, you can prolong the life of your clothing and gear by washing it only when needed and allowing it to line dry, if possible. It may seem counterintuitive but you do need to wash your waterproof gear to keep it working. Choose a special detergent made for technical outerwear, wash your gear in warm water at least once per season (more depending on use) and in this case it is necessary to dry it on a low heat dryer setting to renew the water-repellent treatment.
