TRAIL RUNNER
JAZMINE LOWTHER
Â
Running has always symbolized a rock to stay grounded throughout Jazmine’s life. Only in recent years has it evolved into her main passion and focus. In earlier days, you would find her hooked on alpine climbing large rock walls in the Bugaboos or Valhallas of British Columbia.
Her aspirations switched to running ultras after a cliche moment of signing up for her first 50 k on a whim. After winning the race and placing 3rd overall with no training, she devoted herself to the sport to learn everything about it. Within 1 season, she shook the elite global trail and ultra-running scene with many breakout performances. Her darkhorse win and course record at Canyons 100 k, North America’s most competitive race of its kind, was a pivotal moment that confirmed her innate talent.
Jazmine's motive is to explore what’s possible for her mind and body in the natural elements. As a multi-sport endurance athlete, many doors are open for moving long distances over mountains by running, climbing, mountaineering, skiing, and biking. Beyond the trails and as a Biologist, Jazmine endeavors to inspire others to explore the outdoors and their athletic boundaries and to be leaders in conserving wild spaces and climate change activism
