Alex Armstrong

Squamish, Canada
At a racing camp at 15 years old in Chile, Alex Armstrong discovered powder skiing which redirected her course from Olympic aspirations to searching out the best powder the world has to offer. She moved from Eastern Canada to Lake Louise, where she honed her mountain skills through ski patrolling and freeride coaching.
Lake Louise hosted a Freeride World Qualifier event which Alex entered. Though she bailed in the finals, it was spectacular enough to gain recognition from sponsors. At 26, Alex had never considered a professional skiing career, but this was another redirection that she pursued spiritedly. With hard work and support from her community, she began DIY filming and self-producing project that would eventually lead her to film segments with Blank Collective, Female Skier of the Year nominations and designing her own ski.
Alex now combines her technical skiing skills and mountain sense to reach the high mountain peaks of Western Canada and shred them on the way down. Now residing in Squamish, BC, Alex is passionate about skiing big alpine lines and remains inspired by producing and writing.
