A reinforced midsole protects your feet from the rigours of the trail like a rock plate. For the smoothest and most stable ride there’s the VECTIV Infinite. These shoes are performance-built with enhanced traction, cushioning and comfort for rough, technical terrain making them ideal for trail runs and uneven ground.

Or if you treasure comfort over everything else, the cushioned trail running shoe VECTIV Enduris is the one for you. This shoe features great arch support, a roomier toe cap and balancing stability, making it a great all-around trail shoe.
 

Most runners and footwear experts will suggest you buy trail shoes a half size bigger than your usual fit. That will allow any expansion of your foot muscles when you’re running, and make sure you’re not kicking the toe box when you’re coming down a hill at top speed. Even the best trail shoes will need to be hung up for retirement one day. Durability depends on the type of terrain you’re tackling, but you should be able to get 300 to 500 miles out of them.
