Sustainability

At The North Face we dare to lead the world forward through Exploration. Exploration is a mindset that shapes who we are, what we stand for and what we strive towards. Since 1966, we’ve continually explored how to make a difference for each other and the planet.

Nature is at the heart of all we do. It’s why The North Face has created four actionable commitments to keep us on the path of sustainability from start to finish. From being more intentional and innovative in the way we create products, to helping consumers shop sustainably and understand how to take care of and extend the life of gear, to giving used gear a second life—it’s on us all to help lessen our impact on the places we explore.

Social Impact

Exploration has the power to change lives and connect communities. The Explore Fund is how we’ve put this idea to work at The North Face, by celebrating the ways people get outside. With our partner community, we’re activating what it means to explore—for people and for culture. This takes place through our Explore Fund Council, our commitment to ask leading explorers to create and celebrate culturally-relevant outdoor exploration across the globe. It also includes community grants for culturally-rooted programs and partnerships that increase access to the outdoors with communities traditionally excluded, as well as core outdoor grants for nonprofits and partners to support the outdoor industry.
