Choose synthetic insulation if you live in a rainy or damp climate. Synthetic fibres dry very quickly and will continue to keep you warm even if the jacket gets completely wet.

A slightly roomier fit ensures you can comfortably wear thick knitted jumpers or fleece mid-layers underneath without feeling restricted across the shoulders. A sustainable women's winter coat is built to protect you from the elements while protecting the planet. We achieve this by using 100% recycled fabrics for our exterior shells and linings. For warmth, we strictly source Responsible Down Standard (RDS) certified down or utilise innovative recycled synthetic insulation. Additionally, look for PFAS-free waterproof materials. The North Face does not use PFAS in our waterproof products, ensuring you get excellent, legally compliant rain protection without releasing these harmful chemicals into our waterways.

When travelling, space is everything. The perfect travel jacket should be ultra-lightweight, versatile and highly compressible. Waterproof means the jacket has a specialised barrier and taped seams to completely block rain. If you just need a jacket for running errands in the drizzle, water-resistant is fine. For hiking, severe storms or all-day rain, always choose a fully waterproof rated jacket.
