Grid fleece vs sherpa fleece: what is the difference?

Different types of fleece fabrics are engineered for specific activities and climates:
 

Technical Grid Fleece: Breathable technical fleece featuring a textured geometric pattern on the interior, providing warmth with less bulk. Ideal for climbing, trail running and high-intensity hiking.

Is fleece good for hiking and outdoor activity? Fleece vs down mid-layer: which should you choose?

Fleece is excellent for hiking and outdoor activity because it breathes well, dries quickly when damp and maintains insulation even when wet, unlike down. Down is better only for stationary camp use in dry, cold conditions. For most hiking in variable weather, fleece makes the superior mid-layer choice.

Men’s full-zip fleece jacket vs. quarter-zip pullover: which style should I choose?

Both styles serve distinct functional and aesthetic purposes:

Full-Zip Fleece Jackets: Offer maximum versatility and easy temperature control. You can fully unzip them to dump heat during steep ascents or take them off quickly without removing your helmet or headwear.

Quarter-Zip Pullovers: Sleeker, lighter and more comfortable under a harness or backpack waist belt, as they eliminate the extra bulk of a lower front zip. They work well as a mid-layer or casual pullover.

How do I wash a fleece jacket to prevent pilling and maintain softness?

Always follow the garment label's care instructions before washing. We recommend washing fleece jackets and vests every 6-7 wears, unless they become visibly dirty.

Preparation: Close all zips, turn the fleece inside out and brush off any loose dirt.

Washing: Use a cool, gentle machine cycle with mild detergent.

Restoring Softness: Air dry completely. If high-pile or sherpa fleece becomes slightly matted after washing, use a clean slicker brush or soft comb to gently fluff the fibres back to life.
