Choose synthetic insulation if you live in a rainy or damp climate. Synthetic fibres dry very quickly and will continue to keep you warm even if the jacket gets completely wet.
For seamless everyday layering, look for versatile silhouettes like a relaxed-fit parka, a classic trench-style rain shell or a boxy puffer jacket. A slightly roomier fit ensures you can comfortably wear thick knitted jumpers or fleece mid-layers underneath without feeling restricted across the shoulders. A sustainable women's winter coat is built to protect you from the elements while protecting the planet. We achieve this by using 100% recycled fabrics for our exterior shells and linings. For warmth, we strictly source Responsible Down Standard (RDS) certified down or utilise innovative recycled synthetic insulation. Additionally, look for PFAS-free waterproof materials. The North Face does not use PFAS in our waterproof products, ensuring you get excellent, legally compliant rain protection without releasing these harmful chemicals into our waterways.
When travelling, space is everything. The perfect travel jacket should be ultra-lightweight, versatile and highly compressible. Look for lightweight travel jackets with features like high-fill-power down (which squishes down effortlessly) and a self-stowing design, allowing you to pack the entire coat into its own pocket or pouch. Water-resistant means the jacket has a special coating to make light rain roll off, but it will let water in during heavy downpours.
