Without Compromise
We're helping our preferred materials stand out.
When products are made with 75% or greater recycled, grown using regenerative agriculture practices and/or responsibly-sourced renewable* materials- and if they have a DWR finish, it's non-fluorinated - they earn our Exploration Without Compromise badge.
Every season we calculate the percentage of recycled, grown using regenerative agriculture practices and/or responsibly-sourced renewable* fabric content by weight in our products. To do so we use four key pieces of information: the weight and width of the fabrics, how much fabric is used to make the product (also known as the "yield") and the percentage of preferred material in the fabrics.
Our preferred materials include recycled cotton, polyester, nylon, and wool certified to the Global Recycled Standard or the Recycled Claim Standard; organically grown cotton certified to the Organic Content Standard or the Global Organic Textiles Standard; Lenzing TENCEL(TM) lyocell; regeneratively grown rubber verified through our partner, Origins Co-op; and regeneratively grown cotton verified through our partners Indigo Ag and Good Earth Cotton.
*: defined as materials derived from inputs that naturally replenish in a human’s lifetime. For example, lyocell, which is derived from cellulose, with responsible forestry management certification, such as Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification.
