But that doesn't mean it skimps on comfort. 600-fill recycled down insulation offers the highest level of warmth when exposed to chilly mountain conditions and squashes down to fit into a backpack with the help of the compression sack. A fully-insulated hood, cinch collar and anti-compression pads up the ante on the cosiness, while the synthetic fill around the toes limits compression and increases warmth in the footbox, reducing the need for a hot water bottle or boot liners. If that wasn't enough, trapezoidal side chamber baffles reduce cold spots and retain loft – perfect if you want to get a good night's sleep before you get back on the trail. But if you do find yourself getting too warm throughout the night, the easy-to-open 3/4 zip offers a breath of fresh air. when you need it.
