The boot is heavy duty and lasts very well in the snow. It's stylish and cute as well. The boot is a little snug and I went up a size to allow room for thicker winter socks. However, the boot bends weird behind the ankle and has given me blisters almost every time I've worn them. Ouch. It hurts to walk! I've tried them with both short and long socks. A friend who also has Northface snow boots mentioned this happened with her boots as well. It's getting a little better. Hopefully this is something that will go away with time and wear, but it's something to think about when buying these.

If I had written this review when the boots were new, they would have gotten 5 stars. However, after having them for less than a year, they are breaking at the seams and are no longer waterproof or even remotely warm. If I am going to spend $150 on a pair of boots, I would expect them to last more than one winter season. Seeing as winter only lasts three months, the fact that these boots broke after less than 4 months of actual use is truly pitiful.

Comments about TheNorthFace WOMEN'S SHELLISTA LACE BOOT:

I have always had a very good experience with my Northface gear in the past. However, these boots have disappointed me greatly. I was out ice fishing today, most of the time spent in a warm shanty and my toes were freezing. I've even worn them in more mild cold weather this year shoveling snow and I always come in with freezing toes. They are great for just running to your car and back inside but for actually cold use, I do not recommend them. I will be selling them this year unfortunately.

Comments about TheNorthFace WOMEN'S SHELLISTA LACE BOOT:

After weeks of research, I decided to purchase these boots. I need to be outside walking around a lot for work and needed something comfortable, warm and stylish. These boots look the part and are very comfortable to put on. However, the leather at the ankles bend during walking and rub on the back of the heel creating HUGE blisters. After just a few hours of walking to meetings, I was limping in pain and when I took off the boot, my entire heel was bloody even though I was wearing very thick wool socks.

As they've been worn and there are blood stains, they've obviously not returnable so after spending $150 I still have to buy another pair of boots to get me through the season!

I will never buy North Face footwear again.

I bought these boots to walk around in winter weather in slush and snow. They were very comfortable shoes but after walking around with them them the suede part around the ankles gave me blisters. I thought I could break them in but it just got worse so I took them back to North Face. They were warm but toes got cold in 25 degree weather. If they could fix these problems, I would buy them because they were very comfortable.

Comments about TheNorthFace WOMEN'S SHELLISTA LACE BOOT:

I've had these boots for a year and realized I never wrote a review for them! They saved me during my first winter in MN, which also happened to be the coldest MN winter in 30 years. I lost count of how many days had highs below zero. Anyway, these boots were saviors. I have two dogs who still enjoy their walks when it's zero or above and these not only keep my feet warm, they keep them from slipping around on packed snow and ice. The only complaint I have is the blister/rubbing thing on the ankle. This has only happened with the left boot and I try to put on bandaids or thick socks when I know I'll be walking a lot in these. That does appear to be a design flaw and I encourage TNF to change things around to prevent it in future iterations. If you live somewhere with lots of snow/ice on the sidewalks for 3 months out of the year, bite the bullet and shell out the cash for these. They're worth it.

My toes are always cold whether it's in the summer or winter. I wear these boots all during the winter and I don't complain about being cold. I wear them 13-14 hrs at a time they are very comfortable. I recommend that you get these boots.

I bought this boot for the sole purpose of having warm, dry feet in the winter. It has definitely lived up to what I purchased for. I would highly recommend this boot.

I've had these boots for two winters now and I usually only where them for walking between my house, car, and work. I haven' spent much time out side in them. They have good traction on them and I've worn them to quickly shovel too with out issues. I decided to write this review today because for the first time yesterday I wore the boots while I took my daughter sledding at some local hills. I had to go back to the car in under a half hour. My toes were so numb it was hard to walk and getting dangerous. I had on stocking with wool winter socks on over them. Since the boots are rated to -25F and it was around 30F yesterday I should have no had any issues. My legs were warm. I think everyone that gave the boots 5 stars didn't actually test them in a cold setting outside for a period of time.
