Pretty awesome Jacket

This Jacket is sooooooo warm. I really love it, but it does have a few flaws. I got the black on black one, but the outer jacket is more of a dark grey, which I read another review before I bought it that said the same thing, so I knew it wouldn't be exactly black but I was ok with it being dark grey instead, so if you're looking for an actual black jacket; not for you. However the liner is definitely black; it looks more black in person than in the picture. It does run kind of small, like other reviewers said so I got a medium instead of a small and it fits good, it's longer than I was expecting, but that's alright; 5'8 and 130 lbs (it just covers my butt). There is the "but flap" thing that's kind of weird too, but again I don't mind. Overall a pretty good jacket. It's expensive, but it's very warm, and I live in Michigan.

      Luv this Coat!

I am extremely happy with my purchase! This coat fits perfectly and is very comfortable and light weight but also very warm! Where I live the winters are VERY LONG AND VERY COLD with average temp -30 degrees so I need a warm coat and the 3-1 design is perfect for that extra layer of warmth! Thank you North Face for keeping me warm in this fridged climate:)

I am a college student in Wisconsin so it's crucial that I have a good Winter coat. I love this one because it is extremely warm and water proof. It fits a bit snug so if you're planning on layering alot under it (which you don't need need to because it's so warm) then I'd say get a size up.

      Returning... :(

Well to start, it is in no way black, the zip in fleece is black, but the jacket is definitely grey. It's not a bad color but not what I wanted. It was too small and kinda short to go snowboarding in, in my opinion(I am 5'9"). And although it seemed very warm, there is a big slit up the bottom in the back, which isn't visible in the picture, and I assume is for fashion, but is not practicle at all. Not to mention it kinda makes the bottom flare out like feathers on a duck bum! It literally looks like you have a duck butt, and would allow snow to go right up your back and onto the not waterproof fleece underneath. Sorry, but I returned it.

I love the jacket. It is great for all types of weather. I normally wear a medium and had to buy a large. Runs a little small.

I recently moved to Montreal, Canada and I was looking for a warm coat that wouldn't be too bulky while navigating the metros and underground.

This coat really has everything I wanted. It is extremely warm: It frequently reaches temperatures of -20F to -30F with windchill here and I have never felt cold through my coat. I'm just as impressed with how breathable it is when I'm inside. You won't cook as soon as you step out of the cold, especially if you use the side zippers. Perfect for city life.

I also love the fact that you can easily remove the fleece inside and wear it by itself if you choose. It's warm and comfortable, which is great for warming up inside or maybe as primary outerwear when the temps aren't so low.

I would definitely recommend this coat as it is both versatile and seriously warm. Well worth the money.

I purchased this in the "Ivory" color in my usual small. It is a very versatile color, IMO. It fit TTS for me & for reference I am 5'2, 115. It so far has been extremely warm with the fleece insert in. I have a NF down insert that is compatible as well. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is b/c of the front pockets. They are pretty much useless. Poor design, you can't comfortably put your hands in them. Bummer. I purchased this for an upcoming trip & will keep it. Wish the pockets were designed better but overall I am very happy w/ the coat.
