Comments about TheNorthFace WOMEN’S BANCHEE 65:

This backpack is awesome, from the color down to the amount it carries. Incredibly comfortable pack, very easy adjustments for petite women like myself. The way the pack sits it doesn't feel like you are falling over backward, it's very easy to carry. Should straps have great padding and have great endurance. I would recommend this pack for any woman.

Comments about TheNorthFace WOMEN’S BANCHEE 65:

I've tried no less than eight big-name packs in a long attempt to find a pack that was well under four pounds and could still carry 30 pounds of gear comfortably. Fit is so important on a long hike that I'm willing to work around any pack feature shortcomings as long as it's properly fitted. Well, with the Banchee 65 I don't have to sacrifice all the nice features hikers prefer to have on any pack!
My torso has been measured several times at just under 16 inches. None of the other brands have a pack on the market that fit AND carried my gear without putting any pressure on my shoulders (and I've tried all of them!). I was really getting discouraged until I decided to go out on a limb and try a pack without any customer reviews.
The Banchee 65 fits my small torso and provides excellent padding around my hips. Internal space is just right for all my gear and two long front pockets hold just about everything a hiker would need to grab during the day. The pack has a great ergonomic design, wider at the base and then seems to curl around and toward my body so that there is no pulling on my shoulders. The kangaroo pouch does extend as much as one needs to stuff a rain jacket or other "might need" gear. I do wish the side mesh pockets were longer, larger and made from a stretchier material as they will not accommodate any disposable 1 liter bottles, but that is my only complaint. The pockets on the waist straps are roomy enough for phone, ipod, or camera.
I've hiked the first 200 miles of the AT with the other packs I tried, and return on 4/1/14 to finish the rest of the AT with my new North Face Banchee 65.
