I am 6' tall, 205 lbs, athletic build. I find the large size to be a little snug but wearable. The extra large is definitely too big. I measured the large size Quince jacket as follows:

Chest (armpit to armpit): 23"

Center back length: 28" Please note there is not drop tail hem on this jacket, the front side length is the same.

Sleeve length: 35"

This jacket is an "athletic" fit and is not as boxy as less expensive North Face products. However, the arm holes are cut fairly high and are snug underneath your arm pits. This could cause issues if you are muscular or have a wide chest/back. I would DEFINITELY recommend trying on this jacket before purchasing.

The Quince is extremely warm; most likely a factor of the snug fit and 800 fill down. It fits/compresses well as a midlayer beneath an outer layer. The jacket is also very light weight; it is also not very bulky when compared to other "puffy" down jackets.

I would definitely recommend this jacket, but I would encourage you to try it on to determine your correct size prior to purchasing.

I am truly at a loss. I received this jacket today and immediately tried it on. I was completely taken aback with how high the armpits are (crazy, un-human high); more importantly, the athletic "V" cut is going the wrong way! Slim at the waist, more room up top for broad shoulders is the way it should be. This jacket is nice in the waist, like I expected, however, it narrows as it goes up. even the smallest chest can't make this work. What! No one on earth is built like that (at least not athletes.) To Make matters worse, I decided to at least test out the warmness factor. It is currently 9 degrees F, with a -22 degree F wind chill. I did not expect it to keep me crazy warm considering how thin it is, however, I did expect it to out-duel the thermoball I have. It was much colder than the thermoball. I had an old thunder down, that destroyed this in warmth. My super diez with only a T-shirt under it is warm enough today; my old diez ( drop the "super" add 50 more fill down and drop the price to the old $280) is COMPLETELY toasty today; I will admit the super diez is the best fitting, most comfortable, jacket ever! If you are set on down, buy the super diez. What is going on with less quality and higher prices (its called invisible inflation.) Unless your built like a ridiculously thin (think Charlie Brown) Christmas tree, avoid this jacket like the plague. I have never taken the time to write a review before, however, I have never, EVER, been this at a loss for the fit and warmth of a TNF product before. Still a loyal customer, I just don't get it!

Comments about TheNorthFace MEN’S QUINCE JACKET:

Very comfortable, and very warm. It's very good for travel, because it packs into one of it's pockets. I have several of these that I use for work and travel. With a few layers and this jacket, you are ready for anything! Keeps you warm, but seems to be very breathable!

Comments about TheNorthFace MEN’S QUINCE JACKET:

I'll start off by saying that I own many north face products including 2 other jackets and have always been satisfied. However, I purchased this jacket and within 3 months of casual use it got a hole apprx 1" long in it. This jacket is warm, light weight and stylish, but the material is very weak. I believe I brushed up against a corner in my home which caused the tear. I would not recommend this jacket for any serious use such as climbing, hiking, snowboarding, etc. without a more durable shell being worn over it. Overall I am disappointed with this jackets durability.

      Great Jacket

Comments about TheNorthFace MEN’S QUINCE JACKET:

I have been using North Face products since 2003, that was the first time that I saw this brand and since then it has been one of my favorites brands, I have other 3 jackets and one backpack, and very happy with them.

This new jacket is fantastic, it's very light and very useful when you travel and you have a small suitcase.

I recommend it 100%; you should have one in your closet.

      Marco.

Comments about TheNorthFace MEN’S QUINCE JACKET:

I found it better than Patagonia down sweater.

        2 reasons:

The cuffs of TNF quince are better in shielding cold and hidden.

This Jacket doesn't poke my chin, in fact I don't even feel it. So I can move my head while zipped up completely.

Overall Jacket is warm for it's slim profile. Slim people would find it true to size, not everyone would be happy with the fit.

I think $200 is a more suitable price for this.

Comments about TheNorthFace MEN’S QUINCE JACKET:

For the past 3 years, this has been my go-to 3 season jacket. Used extensively for hiking, skiing and ice climbing under varied conditions in the northeast (Adirondacks, Whites, Catskills) and even out west in Utah. Often used layered with waterproof shell when conditions merit. Low in weight and minimalist compact size makes this an ideal mid level insulator for backpackers. Substantial warmth without bulk. I am 5'6" 160 lbs and the M fits snugly and comfortably yet allows easy articulation. It's only limitations are those inherent to down: keep it dry. Of course, idleness at camp in sub-zero temps will require a heavier jacket. Mine has survived and thrived after heavy use and several home washings with down cleaner. Very pleased with NF Summit Series products. Surprised they don't advertise them more. And it looks good!

Comments about TheNorthFace MEN’S QUINCE JACKET:

The coat is very warm and light. The material it top notch which is what is to be expected from The North Face. The only think I would like to mention is the upper arms. It could be a little more form fitting, but that is more of a preference thing. I would still recommend this coat to anyone.
