Chilkat II Boot

Love the boot, great fit, comfortable and warm, and they look great. I use them in the mountains for snowshoeing and hiking over ice and they work great. Highly recommend them.

Just received these boots as a gift for x-mas and tried them on for a trek up the mountain snowshoeing. You have to love it when the first time you go to tighten the laces that a rivet pulls out and breaks from the side of the boot. Looks like it's just a plastic garbage rivet that couldn't hold up on a single lace up... Cant wait to take these back anyway as I have worn a 13 since high school but apparently my foot grew 2 inches when I tried these on. Never had an issue like this before... Crazy how off they were made... Worth the price if you pay less than 20 bucks though.. My wife paid 100 so I hope you can see where I'm going here..

Got these earlier this winter before all the snow storms and I'm so glad I did. They're a tight fit but keep my feet warm and give me great traction in the snow!

This is a nice, warm, waterproof boot. After a couple years, though, mine have started to fall apart at the seams.

These seem like a great pair of winter boots. Very comfortable and warm. Wore them taking the kids sledding in very wet heavy snow. Feet stayed warm and dry. However they run incredibly small. Normally wear a 9.5 wide or 10 med. couldn't get my foot in a 10 in these however. Not even close. They didn't become comfortable or wearable until I went to a size 13. Hopefully they last as long as my 15 year old Timberlands which finally decided to not be water proof anymore.

            Had to Return

I liked the look of these boots and I am sure they would keep you warm. I ordered 1 size larger than I normally wear after reading other reviews and they were still too tight. I sent them back and bought different boots after being annoyed with waiting on shipping and having to return. Order at least 1 1/2 sizes larger than you normally wear.

Great sales staff didn't have the boot in the store. Took the time and didn't rush showing me boots online and ordering them. Great boot.

I've always had a lot of luck with NorthFace products (I have winter jackets, sneakers, snow pants, etc...) so I decided to purchase the Chilkat II winter boots. True to the brand, I was not disappointed.

In terms of wearability, the boots are insanely comfortable. They slip on/off easily, are incredibly light and the padding inside molds to your feet. The combination of these three characteristics makes it feel like you are walking on clouds.

Functionally, the boots are very good at keeping water/moisture out and heat in. I've been wearing them out in 10 degree weather for extended periods of time (45 minutes-1 hour) and my toes have remained quite toasty.

The only issue I had is that they run very small. I'm a size 11 1/2 fairly consistently (including in my NorthFace sneakers), but had to return the first pair I ordered online. I ended up getting a size 13. It seems a little odd that the sizes would be so far off.

Regardless, the time and effort of exchange was well worth it.
