VOLUNTEER POSITIONS

AID STATION CAPTAIN

Captains are responsible for overseeing all aid station activities. They will be on radio and in frequent communication with the event staff. Previous trail race or aid station volunteer experience is required. Aid Station Captains will assist in the recruitment of aid station teams for their aid station.

Primary race day responsibilities: manage aid station volunteers, track runners, relay information to Race Director and provide directional assistance.

AID STATION VOLUNTEER

Aid Station Volunteers are responsible for maintaining the aid station. Aid station positions require a minimum age of 16, unless accompanied by an adult or chaperone. These volunteer positions are great for running clubs and other large groups looking to volunteer as a team. Aid station themes, decorations and costumes are encouraged to give runners an extra boost of energy during their race! 

Responsibilities include: Set up aid station, track runners, provide directional support, distribute hydration and nutrition, oversee inventory levels on supplies, and assist the event staff in breaking down the aid station. Select aid stations will also be responsible for pacer check-in procedure and drop bag management.

COURSE MARSHAL

Course Marshals will be positioned at key intersections on-course to provide directional assistance to runners as they maneuver the trails. In certain situations, course marshals will be on radio or stationed at road crossings where runners are required to yield to vehicular traffic. These positions require a minimum age of 18, unless accompanied by an adult.

FESTIVAL VOLUNTEER

Festival volunteers will help event staff manage and monitor the Finish Line Festival. Various positions are available and include: runner check-in, onsite packet pickup, race food tent, parking, gear check, finish line crew and festival breakdown.

PACKET PICKUP VOLUNTEER

Volunteers assist event staff in distributing race numbers and gear to participants on Thursday and Friday prior to race weekend at the designated Packet Pickup locations.

VOLUNTEER PARKING

Endurance Challenge Volunteers are able to park adjacent to the Start and Finish Area. Upon arrival, check in with parking monitor. Your name will be on the Parking List then proceed to the lot.

From the South:

  • Head north on New York State Reference Rte 987C/Palisades Interstate Pkwy N
  • Continue onto US-6 E/New York State Reference Rte 987C/Palisades Interstate Pkwy N
  • At the traffic circle, take the 1st exit onto US-202 W/US-9W S
  • Slight right onto Seven Lakes Drive
  • Slight right into parking area

From the East (Bear Mountain Circle):

  • At the traffic circle, take the 3rd exit onto US-202 W/US-9W S
  • Slight right onto Seven Lakes Drive
  • Slight right into parking area

From the West (I-87):

  • Head southeast on US-6 E/Grand Army of the Republic Hwy
  • At the traffic circle, take the 3rd exit onto the US-6 E ramp to Bear Mountain
  • Merge onto US-6 E
  • At the traffic circle, take the 1st exit onto US-202 W/US-9W S
  • Slight right onto Seven Lakes Drive
  • Slight right into parking area
