Brigadine Gear of the Year

Outside Mag Names Fuse Brigandine Gear of the Year

September 30, 2014

Outside magazine has named The North Face Fuse Brigandine Jacket a Gear of the Year winner as part of Outside's Winter 2014-2015 Buyer's Guide. According to the review, which hits newsstands today, the Fuse Brigandine lives up to its name, which is taken from medieval battle armor. Highlighting FuseForm construction, which utilizes advanced manufacturing techniques to weave two material properties into a single fabric, Outside notes the Fuse Brigandine is "tough where it needs to be and minimalist where it doesn't," with the jacket's construction requiring "less seam tape, making the garment both lighter and more breathable than other hard shells with lots of features (powder skirt, helmet-compatible hood, media pocket)." Outside rated the jacket 5 for Durability and 4 for Versatility (out of 5).
