CALIFORNIA FESTIVAL
On Saturday, the 50 Mile, 50K and Marathon races will start in Sausalito while the Marathon Relay will start in Crissy Field. On Sunday, the Half Marathon will start in Sausalito while the 10K and 5K start in Crissy field. All race distances will finish under the RED arch in Crissy Field.
Family and friends should plan to reunite with race participants at the Finish Line Festival in Crissy Field.
After your run, listen to some great music and load up on food and refreshments. A true family event, the Finish Line Festival offers free samples, product trials, demonstrations and prizes from The North Face, Sierra Nevada, Skratch Labs and more!
All participants have the option to leave personal belongings and extra gear at the Finish Festival Area while running.
A perforated bag tag is provided at the bottom of your race bib. Please bring your bag, labeled with the provided tag, to the Gear Check tent before the start of the race. Event staff will place it in a secure location for pickup post-race.
For races starting in Sausalito, bags will be delivered to the Gear Check tent at the Finish Festival at Crissy Field for you to pick up at the end of your race.
Drop bags on-course are ONLY allowed for 50 Mile participants at locations specified in the course guides. Please see the course guide for additional gear check information.

On Satruday, The North Face Global Athlete Team Member, Dean Karnazes, will be answering questions, taking photos and signing autographs at The North Face Retail booth at the Finish Line Festival.

For those too young to enter the Endurance Challenge, the Kids’ Race provides a fun, supervised way for kids to join in the action on race day.
Dean Karnazes will lead the way on a 1K course alongside some notable characters, including Elsa, Olaf, SpongeBob SquarePants, Kevin the Minion, Buzz Lightyear, Big Bird and Elmo, to name a few.
Registration is free and parents can sign up race day at the Kids’ booth. See the Event Weekend Schedule above for race times.
All kids’ race participants receive a medal and free finisher photo from Ultra Race Photos, the Official Race Photographer for the series. Parents must include a legible email address to receive the free photo code.
All 50 Mile, 50K and Marathon participants will receive a free meal ticket on their race bib, redeemable at the Catering booth. Food for spectators, other participants and Sunday participants can be purchased at the Concessions booth.
A Beer Garden will be provided for spectators and participants to enjoy an adult beverage after the race. The first beer is FREE for all race participants.
It is important to note that at certain Endurance Challenge events, beer service and sales may not be permitted or may have certain restrictions due to state laws.
Please bring cash if you plan to purchase additional beer or food.
The North Face Performance apparel and footwear will be on display at The North Face retail booth. Stop by to check out the latest in performance gear and sign up for The North Face VIPeak Rewards, the free rewards program from The North Face.
The North Face apparel and other products will be available for sale at the Merchandise booth where you can pick up official race apparel and accessories.
In the Runner Recovery area, participants can refuel and rejuvenate their muscles with a free massage, ice baths and samples from Skratch Labs.
Skratch Labs is designed to give you the fuel you need after long workouts without adding any unnecessary ingredients. Try the Fruit Drops as an easy and convenient source of carbohydrate to help maintain blood sugar and performance during prolonged exercise.
You have been dedicated, trained hard and passed under the Red arch for the final time; now it’s time to party.
Once you’ve received your finisher medal and water bottle, runners will find a smorgasbord of the usual post-run fare like bananas, oranges, energy bars, electrolyte drink, snacks and more.
We ask all spectators to stay out of the immediate finishing area to allow the runners ample space to slow down and recover. Family and friends may greet their runner after he or she has exited the finish chute.
Weather in Marin County this time of year is generally cold, with an average high of 57 degrees and an average low of 47 degrees and an increased chance of rain. Please be prepared and bring the appropriate clothing and accessories.
The North Face prizes and medals will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each of the six solo race distances. Overall awards and medals will also be given to the first place all-men's, all-women's and co-ed Marathon Relay teams.
Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female participants in the 50 MILE race in the following amounts:
First Place – $10,000
Second Place – $4,000
Third Place – $1,000
We encourage other runners and spectators to stay for the awards ceremonies and support the finishing athletes. If you are unable to attend the awards ceremony, you may pickup your award early at the Awards booth. Unclaimed awards will NOT be mailed.
The first place male and females in each age division will receive prizes from The North Face. If you place in the top three overall for your race distance, you do not qualify for an age group award. The age divisions are as follows:
- 19 and under
- 20-24
- 25-29
- 30-34
- 35-39
- 40-44
- 45-49
- 50-54
- 55-59
- 60-64
- 65 and over
Age Group awards will not be presented in a formal awards ceremony; however, you may pick up your award at the Awards booth. Unclaimed awards will NOT be mailed.
