Are rain jackets completely waterproof?
Once you've decided on a style, it's important to consider the level of waterproofing in a raincoat. Many men's rain jackets have a durable water-repellent (DWR) coating, but water-resistant is not the same as waterproof. Water resistant raincoats can handle light rain, but if the precipitation continues, grows stronger, or starts falling sideways, they aren't as effective at keeping moisture out.
