Outward Bound’s Inspire & Educate Night: Unveil the mystery of geocaching through instruction and adventurous stories told by geocacher, Ben Thomas
Geocaching is a high-tech treasure hunting activity done by adventure seekers equipped with GPS devices. Participants search for caches, or containers, that are located on all 7 continents in over 900,000 locations. Come and learn about the highs and lows of California geocaching, from 14,505 feet to minus 282 feet. Ben Thomas, with his 5 billion dollar technology, has found over 15,000 caches from the Mohave Desert to the peaks of Mount Whitney. Hear all about his adventures and a breakdown for what is needed for geocaching both globally and in the Bay Area. We will discuss the various equipment that is used, and provide basic instruction on how to use it. If you've ever wondered about geocaching, this will be a great opportunity to ask those questions and get some answers.

FREE Geocaching Trip in Golden Gate Park: Geocache your way through The City's Gem of Golden Gate Park
This Halloween, come join Outward Bound, The North Face, and members of the Geocachers of the Bay Area for a day of fun and adventure within the City's gem of Golden Gate Park. For those who are not familiar with geocaching, it is a high-tech treasure hunting game played by adventure seekers equipped with GPS devices. Participants search for caches, or containers, that are hidden all over the world. On this day, we will start by helping San Francisco's Park and Recreation Department restore the North Lake area, which is known for its birds and rare plants. We will then start up our GPS's, break off into groups...and start the hunt. If you have a GPS, please bring it. If you do not, we will supply one. Please visit getoutdoorsseries.com to Register.
