How to Register

Register for The North Face Endurance Challenge Regional Event in one of the following ways:

2. Request an entry form by mail. Please contact us at the e-mail address below and we will be happy to mail a form to you. We do not accept phone entries.

Please only enter once. If you fax or register online, do not mail a hard copy. Do not submit multiple faxes or online entries.

Each registered participant and finisher will receive the following

  • Entry to selected race (10K, Half-Marathon, Accelerade 50K or 50 Mile)
  • The North Face technical performance shirt
  • The North Face VaporWick™ head wear
  • The North Face technical running socks
  • The North Face E50 bottle holder (Accelerade 50K and 50 Mile runners only)
  • Race number / bib
  • Use of Timing Chip (must be returned)
  • Accelerade, water, and refreshments at Start and Finish
  • Accelerade, water, and refreshments at Aid Stations on course
  • Finisher medal upon crossing finish line (Accelerade 50K and 50 Mile runners only)
  • Accelerade 50K and 50 Mile runners only: Free hot meal at Finish Line Festival (10K and Half Marathon runners have the option to purchase a hot meal for $15)

Packet Pickup

During the registration process, you must choose one of the following options for obtaining your race packet and bib number:

Participants may pick up their race bag and race numbers at the designated The North Face store prior to the race. You must show a government-issued photo I.D. to pick up your race number and chip. Race numbers will only be given to family, friends or anyone else other than the participant with a photocopy of the participant’s government-issued photo I.D. No exceptions will be made.

If you cannot make it to The North Face store for packet pickup, delivery service to the address of your choice, for scheduled arrival on Thursday, September 4th is also available. All associated costs of the delivery service option will be the responsibility of the athlete. A separate registration form through Active.com will be available through September 2nd. If you wish to receive this service, you must register online and approve the added costs. Packets will ship out September 3rd and a shipping status with tracking information will be sent to the email address you provide. The packet must be signed for at time of delivery by you. Under no circumstances will the packets be delivered without a signature of receipt. If you wish to make any changes to your registration prior to the event (race distance, added meal tickets, etc.) please do not register for this option. All changes to registrations will only be made at packet pickup and cannot be made online.

You should track your packet using the tracking information emailed to you. If your packet does not arrive on September 4th, contact endurancechallenge@hawkeyeww.com by 8:00 a.m. EST on September 5th for assistance.


There will be no packet pickup on race day. All packets must be picked up on the Thursday or Friday before the event. You may register for the event at packet pickup and race day registration fees will apply.

AWARDS & MEDALS

Custom finisher medals will be given to each Accelerade 50K and 50 Mile participant when they complete their event. You must pick up your medal at the Finish Line. Medals will NOT be shipped.

Prizes will be given to the top three male and female overall finishers in all races.

In the 50 Mile race only, cash prizes will be given to the top three male and female finishers in the following manner:

1st place male $1,000           1st place female $1,000
2nd place male $600             2nd place female $600
3rd place male $350              3rd place female $350


In addition to the $1,000 prize, the overall 1st place male and female finishers in the 50 Mile race will receive round-trip airfare, a two (2) night hotel stay and a complimentary entry into the Endurance Challenge National Championship in San Francisco, CA, on December 6, 2008.

At the Endurance Challenge National Championship, the 1st place male and female finishers in the 50 Mile race will receive the largest single prize in trail ultra running: $10,000 each and will be crowned champions of the 2008 The North Face Endurance Challenge. Second place male and female finishers will receive $4,000 each and third place male and female finishers will receive $1,000 each.

Prizes will also be given to the top three male and female finishers in each of the following age groups in all races:

20 and under      21-29      30-39      40-49      50-59      60+

Age group prizes will be comprised of The North Face and sponsor products.

The North Face Endurance Challenge will use Chip Timing for all events. Overall prizes, 1st, 2nd and 3rd will be done by Gun Time. All age-group prizing will be based off Chip Times.

Awards will be presented on race day at the following times:

10K                              11:30 a.m.
Half Marathon              12:30 p.m.
Accelerade 50K           2:00 p.m.
50 Mile                          3:00 p.m.

Winners must be present to receive awards. Awards will NOT be shipped.

Cancellation Policy

All race participant purchases are final. If you cannot participate (whether due to injury, unexpected schedule conflict, or for any reason whatsoever), the entry fee will not be refunded and cannot be transferred to the 2009 race or another competitor. With written request, we will be happy to ship your 2008 race bag. Send us your request via e-mail or snail mail and include your name, street address, sex, age, phone number and shirt size.
