2008 The North FaceŽ Endurance Challenge



  • The North FaceŽ Endurance Challenge consists of a series of five running events, each designed to provide a venue for outdoor athletes to test their personal and physical limits.

  • Regional events take place in the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, Northeastern, and Northwestern regions of the United States.

  • The North FaceŽ Endurance Challenge Championship will take place just north of San Francisco, CA.

  • Each The North FaceŽ Endurance Challenge event includes races covering the following distances: 10K, half marathon (13.1 miles), 50K (31 miles), and 50 miles. Courses are designed to take place on as much trail as possible and may include some short paved segments.

  • Each of the four regional events in The North FaceŽ Endurance Challenge is designated as a regional championship and qualifier for the 50 Mile Championship event in San Francisco. The 1st place male and female finisher of each regional 50 Mile race will receive a cash prize of $1,000, a two (2) night hotel stay, and a complimentary entry into the Endurance Challenge Championship on December 6, 2008. The 2nd place male and female finishers of each regional 50 Mile race will receive $600. The 3rd place male and female finishers of each regional 50 Mile race will receive $350.

  • At the Endurance Challenge Championship, the 1st place male and female finishers in the 50 Mile race will receive the largest single prize in trail ultra running: $10,000 each and will be crowned champions of the 2008 The North FaceŽ Endurance Challenge. The 2nd place male and female finishers of the 50 Mile race will receive $4,000 each. The 3rd place male and female finishers of the 50 Mile race will receive $1,000 each.

  • PLEASE NOTE: Registration for The North FaceŽ Endurance Challenge Championship 50 Mile race is open to all. That is, one need not qualify in order to compete in the 50 Mile race on December 6, 2008.
