The Access Fund

The Access Fund is a national advocacy organization that keeps U.S. climbing areas open and conserves the climbing environments. The North Face is partnered with The Access Fund through the Land Conservation Campaign, a first-ever multimillion-dollar revolving loan program that provides local climbing organizations with the funds and expertise needed to act quickly to save threatened climbing areas. Our contribution is directly funding the conservation of the Rumbling Bald West Side Boulders in North Carolina. By partnering with the Access Fund, The North Face shows our support for the climbing community and the climbing access cause. Together, we keep climbing areas open and help conserve the climbing environment.

The Conservation Alliance

In 1989, The North Face®, in conjunction with Patagonia, REI and Kelty, helped form The Conservation Alliance, an organization dedicated to supporting grassroots citizen-action groups and their efforts to protect outdoor areas. Today, we continue to donate to the alliance every year and maintain a permanent seat on the board of directors. The Conservation Alliance started its Legacy Fund Campaign to raise a $3.5-million endowment to provide a permanent source of operational funding for the organization. Presently, Legacy Fund commitments exceed $2.75 million.
