Details
Bringing together the classic, rugged flair of yesterday and cutting-edge technology of today, this down-insulated snowsports jacket is meticulously constructed to withstand grueling on and off mountain rigors for always-active athletes. Waterproof, breathable, fully seam sealed HyVent® exterior and Kevlar® reinforced abrasion at shoulders can weather any storm. Designed in part with The North Face® athlete and extreme skiing pioneer, Scot Schmidt, the geometric Steep Tech™ logo is derived form something Joseph Campbell (an American mythologist) used in his lectures. Schmidt says, "I believe he called it the ‘Sphere of the Physique'. It represents a healthy balance between the mind, body and soul. The outer circle represents the body. The center dot represents your soul. The line separates your ego from your source (soul)."

Technology
A waterproof, breathable technology utilizing a polyurethane (PU) coating that consists of a tri-component, multi-layer formula for waterproof protection, moisture permeability and durability. HyVent® technology has been lab- and field-tested to ensure the best possible durability and function while also maintaining an optimum level of breathability. To test the level of waterproofness, we subjected HyVent® garments to 20 wash cycles, where garments retained an average of more than 60 PSI on the waterproofing Mullens test.
