The Primero Collection of packs from The North Face® embodies virtually everything we have come to know about pack design and construction.
Welded Pack Body
The Primero’s hood and pack bottom are welded and waterproof, and they employ taped seams. The hood (with its PU zipper), protects valuables inside the top pocket as well as the pack body below. The pack bottom is configured to keep the sleeping bag compartment dry even if the pack is placed in a puddle.
Primero Load Transfer
The Primero’s X Radial™ tubular aluminum internal frame is mated to the pack body to optimize load distribution. The shoulder harness load lifters are stitched into the top seam of the back panel to precisely transfer the load from the top frame member to the harness. The dual pivot hipbelt pulls its share of the load directly from the lower stanchions of the X Radial™ frame and distributes that load along the top of the hipbelt.
Primero Hip and Shoulder
The hipbelts and shoulder harnesses of the Primero packs are constructed of highly breathable yet durable E-VAP™ foam. The hipbelt is molded around a compound curve that hugs the hips, eliminates hot spots, and spreads the load along a broader iliac radius. The shoulder harness utilizes perforations that promote breathability and allow it to better conform to various shoulder shapes and sizes.
