Bio: Perhaps the world’s most recognized skier, Scot’s extraordinary talent has helped shape the ski industry and has given inspiration to a whole generation of adrenaline-sport athletes. Scot began his career modestly as a young skier in his hometown of Helena, Montana. In 1983, while living in Squaw Valley, California, and tuning skis for a living, a Warren Miller cameraman approached him and asked him to appear in what would be Scot’s first ski film, Ski Time. Hucking 60- to 100-foot cliffs with a controlled style that set him apart from other daredevils, Scot carved out a place for himself in the early days of extreme-skiing videos. He went on to star in dozens of films, including cult favorites Blizzard of Aahhs, License to Thrill and Groove. He has also worn the hats of Technical Consultant, Stuntman and Stunt Coordinator for the film industry. Scot has used his experience and expertise as a ski pioneer to help various research, design and development teams create ski-industry related products. As Technical Consultant and Designer for The North Face, he developed the “Steep Tech” line of skiwear, and recently he worked with Stöckli Ski USA to develop a pro model signature ski. He is also co-founder and vice president of athlete relatio+N1ns of Go with a Pro (www.gowithapro.com). When he is not working, Scot enjoys surfing, adventure motocross, snowmobiling, relaxing on the beach, and spending time with his wife, two daughters and son.
